Maja's :
La maja desnuda,
The naked Maja (1800) and
La maja vestida,
The clothed Maja (1803). Both are kept side by side in the Prado museum, Madrid.
Many people claim that The naked Maja has the first clear depiction of female pubic hair in a large Western painting (source: wikipedia).

ReplyDeleteFor me, the naked Maja looks more realistic than the clothed one becoz I don't think the dress she has worn can be such a tight fit to reveal the V shape and presence of pubic hair even though the legs are nearer. Whatdayathink suchitra?
Yeah I agree. The clothing is not realistic. Also the breasts should have come closer inside such a tight outfit.
